All of the smaller issues I have addressed on these podcasts over the last year are pieces of the bigger theme. God made animals for His own glory. Any beneficial aspects of the animals for us humans is a lesser purpose, not the main purpose. Therefore our uses of animals must keep in mind the glory of God.
The Tabernacle, the Temple, and the future New Jerusalem of Revelation are all updated models of Eden. The Earth was meant to be God’s throne forever. Satan’s defeat of Adam and Eve brought rebellion and God could not make His throne on the rebellious world. Henceforth He worked with a small remnant of His people mainly through the Jews. The Tabernacle and Temple were designed with all the elements of the Garden of Eden to remind us of how we fell. The sacrificial system was to remind us that only by the blood of the innocent could we be saved from sin. When Jesus came, that system ended. The New Jerusalem in Revelation is the great city of God brought down from Heaven and placed on Earth. God will then reign here forever with us, His people, the church. And the animals will inhabit the rest of the world outside that great city.
